search_productsSearch or browse store products by price, sales, units sold, selling countries, ads, reach, reviews, launch date, currency or shop countryfind_winning_productsProducts selling now in a nichesearch_shopsSearch or browse Shopify storesDropshipping product research in SellWinners works from two sides: the products stores sell, and the stores that sell them. Search store products by their estimated revenue, units sold and Meta ads, or type a product name and get the Shopify stores that sell it, then read each store's best sellers, its traffic growth and the ads it runs.
Use both sides, because a product's numbers tell you only part of the story. Its store tells you the rest: whether its visits are rising, which items sit at the top of its catalog, and whether it keeps paying for ads. When a product sells in volume, a growing store lists it among its best sellers and it has ads live for weeks, three separate signals point the same way.
How dropshipping product research works here
You work with products and with the stores that sell them. Here is what you get:
- Product search. Store products with their price, estimated revenue and units sold a day and a month, reviews, launch date, the countries they sell to and their shop, with their Meta ads: live ads, ad share, EU ad spend and EU reach.
- Search by product name. A shop search with the match set to Product name returns the stores that sell a product with that name.
- Best sellers. Each store lists its best sellers in rank order, with their title, image and price. Its newest products come next to them.
- Store numbers. Monthly visits, 30-day traffic growth, units sold, estimated monthly sales and active ads, all for the whole store.
- Ads. The Meta ads of the store's Facebook pages, with how long each one has run, and the posts of its TikTok profile.
Every figure is an estimate. A product's revenue and units sold are its own, while a store's cover the whole store: compare stores with those, then let the best sellers tell you which items carry each one.
When a store looks promising, open it to check a store's estimated sales over time, along with where its visitors come from and the apps it uses.
Search products in Explore
Explore is the web app. Open Products to search the products themselves:
- Type a product in the search box, for example "posture corrector", or leave it empty to browse every product.
- Sort by Revenue, so the products with the highest sales estimate come first. Active ads and Ad share rank them by their Meta ads.
- In Filters, keep a price band and set a floor for Revenue or Units sold. Selling countries and Launch date narrow the list further.
- Open a product for its sales, its reviews, its rank among its shop's best sellers, its Meta ads and its latest ads.
Product search is on paid plans, in Explore and in the API.
Find the stores that sell a product
To start from the stores instead, here is a first search:
- Open Shops. In Filters, set Match to Product name.
- Type the product in the search box, for example "posture corrector".
- Sort by Growth 30d, so the stores whose traffic grew most come first.
- Switch the view to Cards. Each card shows the store's first three best sellers as pictures, with its visits, sales, ads and product count.
- Open a store and go to its Products tab. Sort by Popularity for the best sellers, or by Price or Newest.
Search stores by product in Explore
If you have no product idea yet, leave the search empty, pick a niche in Categories and sort by Growth 30d. The growing stores of that niche come first, and their best sellers become your list of ideas. The same Shops screen lets you search Shopify stores by product name, store name, domain or words on the storefront.
Filters that matter for product research
Shops take 52 filters. Open Advanced filters in Explore, or send them by name in the API. These do most of the work:
- Traffic growth (minTrafficGrowth)
- The change in monthly visits over 30 days, in percent. A floor of 20 keeps stores that are gaining visitors now.
- Monthly visits (minMonthlyVisits)
- A floor drops the stores that have almost no visitors.
- Units sold and Est. monthly sales (minUnitsSold, minMonthlySales)
- Store level estimates. A floor keeps the stores that sell in volume.
- Best seller price (minBestSellerPrice, maxBestSellerPrice)
- Filters stores by the price of their best sellers, so you stay in the price band you can sell at.
- Active ads (minActiveAds)
- A store that sells and also runs ads is paying to grow.
- Products (maxProductsCount)
- A store with few products is usually built around one or two items, which makes its best seller easy to read.
- Categories and Main market countries (categoryIds, mainMarketCountries)
- Keep one niche and the countries you ship to. Category ids come from
GET /v1/facets/categories.
Check the demand behind a product
A best seller tells you what a store sells most today. Its ads tell you whether the store still pays to sell it. On a store's page, the Ads tab lists the Meta ads of its linked Facebook pages. Set the status to Active and sort by Longest running. An ad that has stayed live for a month is often one that pays for itself. The TikTok tab shows the store's own posts with their views and likes.
To see who else advertises the same product, search its name across every brand with the ad spy tool. If many brands run long ads for it, people want it, and you will not be the only one selling it. A few brands with ads live for weeks can be an easier place to start. To size up the stores you would compete with, find a store's competitors from any store in your list.
Run the same research through the API
Every step above is a request. Products take 35 named filters, sent in the query string:
# Search or browse products
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/products?search=posture%20corrector&sortBy=estSales&minUnitsSoldMonthly=300&limit=10" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/products Parameters and fields in the docs
Each product carries pricing.priceUsd, sales.estMonthlySales, sales.unitsSoldMonthly, reviews.rating, advertising.activeAds, its EU reach and spend in eu and its shop. For a longer set of filters, send them at the top level of a POST:
# Search products with filters
curl -X POST "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/products/query" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query": "posture corrector", "sortBy": "activeAds", "minPriceUsd": 20, "maxPriceUsd": 80, "sellingCountries": ["US"], "limit": 20}'POST /v1/products/query Parameters and fields in the docs
For the stores that sell a product, the match is searchType=productName, and the filters go in the query string by name:
# Search or browse shops (trending when empty)
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops?search=dog%20bed&searchType=productName&minTrafficGrowth=20&minMonthlyVisits=5000&sortBy=growth30d&limit=10" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/shops Parameters and fields in the docs
Each result carries catalog.bestSellers (title, price, currency and image), traffic.growth30d, sales.unitsSold, sales.estMonthlySales and advertising.activeAds. For a longer set of filters, send a POST with them at the top level of the body:
# Search shops with advanced filters
curl -X POST "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops/query" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"search": "dog bed", "searchType": "productName", "sortBy": "unitsSold", "mainMarketCountries": ["US"], "maxBestSellerPrice": 80, "minActiveAds": 5, "limit": 20}'POST /v1/shops/query Parameters and fields in the docs
Then read the best sellers of one store. The domain works in place of the shop id:
# Shop products
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops/gymshark.com/products?sortBy=popularity&limit=20" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/shops/{shopId}/products Parameters and fields in the docs
Sorted by popularity, the list holds the best sellers in their rank. Sorted by price or by createdAt, the newest products join them. Either way it is a sample of the catalog, and the answer says so with meta.isTruncated.
Ask your AI agent for winning products
On paid plans, the MCP tool find_winning_products runs the whole search in one call. Give it a niche, such as "pet supplies" or a category id, and one to five product words. For each word it finds the stores that sell a matching product, inside the niche when a category matches it, ranks them by 30-day traffic growth, and keeps the best sellers whose title contains one of your words, up to three per store. Add a country code to keep one main market, and ask for up to 30 stores.
For a list of products, search_products takes the same filters and sorts as the product search. Ask "Find the posture correctors with the most estimated sales that sell to the US, with their price and active ads."
A prompt that works: "Run find_winning_products with niche pet supplies and keywords dog bed and cat tree, country US. Then give me a brief on the top three stores." Your agent can follow up with search_shops for a wider list and brief_competitor for one store's products, ads and similar shops. Connect your agent from the MCP server page.
What it does not do
- No exact sales. A product's revenue and units sold are estimates, and so are a store's.
- No suppliers, product costs or profit margins. You get the selling price of the best sellers, and you work out the margin with your own supplier quote. The Shopify fees calculator then shows what a Shopify plan and its card fees take from each month of sales.
- No promise that a product will sell for you. The data shows what sells for other stores now.

Common questions
What do units sold and estimated sales measure?
It depends on where you read them. In the product search, each product has its own estimated revenue and units sold, a day and a month. In the shop search and on a store's page, units sold and estimated monthly sales cover the whole store, and its best sellers are listed in their rank, with their title, image and price. All of them are estimates, with sales in US dollars. Read how the estimates work.
Which plan do I need for product research?
A paid plan. Product search, searching stores by product name, the shop filters and sorts, and the MCP tools search_products and find_winning_products are on paid plans. Explore, the web app, is not metered on paid plans. See the pricing page for the plans.
Can I filter by the price of the products?
Yes. In the product search, Price takes a minimum and a maximum in US dollars (minPriceUsd and maxPriceUsd in the API). In the shop search, Best seller price filters stores by the price of their best sellers (minBestSellerPrice and maxBestSellerPrice). Use them to stay in the price band you can sell at.
Can I limit the research to one country?
Yes. Main market countries keeps the stores whose main market, by visitors, is one of the countries you pick. In the API it is mainMarketCountries, with two-letter codes such as US or GB. find_winning_products takes the same thing as country. In the product search, Selling countries (sellingCountries) keeps the products that sell to one of the countries you pick.
