Find competitor ads and the advertisers behind them
An advertiser is a Facebook page that runs ads. Search them by brand, by what their ads say or by what their website says, and rank them by how many ads they run and how far those ads reach.

search_advertisersSearch advertisers (Facebook pages)lookupResolve a brand name, a shop domain or a Facebook page id to ids you can use with the other toolsCompetitor ads are easiest to study one advertiser at a time. On Facebook and Instagram an advertiser is a Facebook page, and SellWinners lets you search those pages, rank them by how many ads they run and how far the ads reach, and open any page to list every ad it runs.
Start from a niche and you find the brands putting the most into Meta ads there, including ones you had never heard of. Start from a brand you know and you see its ad account from the outside: how many ads are live, how many are new, and where they run.
What an advertiser record shows
| Area | What you see |
|---|---|
| Profile | Page name and logo, Facebook likes, Instagram followers, the day the page was created and the shop it links to |
| Activity | Live ads, total ads, new ads over 7, 14 and 30 days, and the average of its live ads over 14 days |
| Reach and spend | Reach over 30 days, 14 days and since tracking began, and the spend estimated from it, in all and as a daily average over 14 days |
| Countries | The share of its live ads that target each country, and where its reach was seen |
| History | Live ads, new ads, reach gained and estimated spend day by day, with its likes and followers |
| Platforms | The page's own Meta ads, and the Google and TikTok ads of its website |
Reach is reported for ads shown in the EU and the UK, and spend is an estimate made from that reach. Both are useful to compare advertisers, not audited figures.
How to find competitor ads with advertiser search
Advertiser search lives in Explore, the SellWinners web app, where searches do not use your API requests.
- Open Explore and go to Advertisers.
- Type a niche word or a brand, and pick what it matches: All, Brand (the page name), Ad copy, Website copy or URL contains.
- Open Filters and set a floor, such as a minimum of Active ads, and the countries your market is in.
- Sort the list: Active ads for the biggest accounts, New ads 14d for the ones launching now, Growth 30d for the ones speeding up.
- Open a page. Its tabs are Ads, Landing pages, Countries, History and Platforms, with buttons to save it, track it, or open it on Facebook and in Meta's Ad Library.
Rank activewear advertisers by active ads
The filters, by group
Advertisers take 58 named filters in the API. Explore shows them in groups:
- Activity: active ads, ads launched in a period, and the growth of its ads over 30 days.
- Reach and spend: total reach, page spend, CPM, and reach growth over 30 days.
- Audience: countries, main countries, ad countries, ad language, age and the gender its ads reach.
- Page: Facebook likes, Instagram followers, the page's creation date, and whether it runs partnership ads.
- Shop: the categories and technologies of its store, whether it links to a Shopify store, and that store's monthly visits and traffic growth.
Sort orders
Relevance, newest, active ads, new ads over 14 days, total reach, reach over 14 days, growth over 30 days, likes and followers together, and the share of its ads shown in the EU. An advertiser search reads its first 100 results, so narrow a broad search with filters to bring the advertisers you want into those 100.
Five ways to use advertiser search
Map the top advertisers of a niche
Search "activewear" in All fields, set Active ads to at least 50 and sort by active ads. The list is the brands that run the biggest Meta accounts in that niche right now.
Spot who is ramping up
Sort by New ads 14d, or set a floor on ads growth. A page that launched many ads in two weeks is testing or scaling, and its newest ads show what.
Find advertisers by their message
Switch the match to Ad copy and type a claim or an offer, such as "free shipping" or "clinically proven". You get the pages whose ads say it, whatever their names.
Find the brands behind a site
Switch to URL contains and type part of a domain to find the pages that advertise it, or to Website copy for words on the store itself.
Keep to your market
Add your countries under Audience and an Ad language, so the ranking only holds brands that advertise where you sell.
From a page to its ads
An advertiser's Ads tab is its Meta ad library: every ad of the page, sorted by newest, reach, spend, days running, duplicates or rank. Open any ad for its copy, transcript, hook, rank and reach history. The Meta ads library page explains how to read them, and our post on researching competitors' Meta ads walks through it step by step.
To keep watching a competitor without searching again, track the brand: you get its top ads, the ads gaining rank, its hooks and its landing pages in reports.
Advertiser search from the API and your AI agent
The search takes the same filters as Explore, by name. This asks for skincare brands by page name, with at least 20 live ads, fastest growing first:
# Search advertisers with filters
curl -X POST "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/advertisers/query" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query": "skincare", "searchType": "brand", "minActiveAds": 20, "sortBy": "growth30d", "limit": 20}'POST /v1/advertisers/query Parameters and fields in the docs
Each row is a page with its profile, live ads, reach and newest ads. With a page's id, one call gives the full record and another lists its ads:
# Meta ads of one advertiser
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/advertisers/ADVERTISER_ID/ads?sortBy=reach&limit=20" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/advertisers/{advertiser_id}/ads Parameters and fields in the docs
From an AI agent, search_advertisers takes the same search, match mode and sort. Ask "Which skincare brands launched the most Meta ads in the last two weeks?" and it searches, ranks and answers, with the same key and credits as the API. lookup turns a brand name or a domain into the page ids the other tools take.
Every parameter is in the advertisers API reference.
Advertisers on Free and on paid plans
Advertiser search and advertiser pages are on paid plans. A brand's Meta ads stay open on every plan: on Free, type the brand in the Brand field of a Meta ad search, or open its page, whose Ads tab lists its ads. The demo brands' pages are open in full on the website. The pricing page compares what each plan includes.
Find the advertisers in your niche
No card is needed. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API. The API and the other datasets need a paid plan. Paid plans start at €39 a month.
Common questions
What is an advertiser in SellWinners?
A Facebook page that runs ads on Facebook and Instagram. Each one has a record with its live and new ads, its reach and estimated spend in the EU and the UK, the countries its ads target, its history and the shop it links to.
How do I find the top advertisers in my niche?
Search a niche word in Advertisers, set a minimum of active ads and sort by Active ads. Add your countries under Audience to keep the brands that advertise where you sell. Sort by New ads 14d instead to see who is launching the most right now.
Can I see every ad a competitor runs?
Yes. Open the advertiser and its Ads tab lists every Meta ad of the page, sorted by newest, reach, spend, days running or rank. On Free, a shop's page lists the Meta ads of its own pages instead. In the API, use GET /v1/advertisers/PAGE_ID/ads.
How much does a competitor spend on Meta ads?
The advertiser record shows a spend estimated from the reach of its ads in the EU and the UK, in all and as a daily average over 14 days. It is an estimate to compare advertisers with, not an audited figure, and a page with no EU or UK ads has none.
Why does a brand have several advertisers?
A shop can run ads from several Facebook pages: its main page, other official pages, and the pages of creators and partners who run ads for it. GET /v1/shops/{shopId}/advertisers lists the pages linked to a shop and marks the main one.
Are advertisers on the Free plan?
Advertiser search and advertiser pages are on paid plans. On Free, a shop's page lists the Meta ads of its own pages. The demo brands are open in full on the website. See the plans and their prices.
