Set up the MCP server

An email marketing library is a searchable collection of the marketing emails real brands send. In SellWinners every email is linked to the online store that sent it: you search the subject, the sender or the content, filter by campaign type, promotion and event, and read any email in full, down to its HTML.

Reading what other stores send answers a lot before you write a word: how a sale is announced, what a welcome email promises, how often a brand in your niche writes, and which dates it plans around.

What the email marketing library holds

A result list shows each email's subject and preheader, the shop that sent it, the day it went out and its labels. Open one and you get the whole record:

What one email record holds
AreaWhat you see
The messageSubject, preheader, the text and its length, and a screenshot of the email as sent when there is one
LabelsCampaign type, category, promotion type and event
SendingThe sender, the date and time, the language and, when it is known, the email service the shop uses
The HTMLThe raw HTML, to study the layout or render it yourself
The shop behind itIts domain, monthly visits, product count, the live ads of its main Facebook page and its emails of the last 90 days

How the emails are labelled

  • Campaign type: Marketing, Newsletter, Welcome or Abandoned Cart. Without one, a search lists the Marketing and Newsletter emails.
  • Category: what the campaign is for, such as a Launch Campaign, a Promotional Campaign or a Win-back Campaign.
  • Promotion type: the offer, such as Discount %, Free Delivery, Gift With Purchase or BOGO. No Promotion marks an email that offers nothing.
  • Event: the date it is built around, such as Black Friday, Christmas or Mother's Day. Events sit in categories, such as Commercial Events or Seasonal.

Each label is a filter, and GET /v1/facets/email-classifications lists their values.

Examples of what the email library holds

The labels are the quickest way to see what is in the library: every email carries them, and each value below is one you can pick in the filters. Together they describe the emails stores send through the year.

Seven campaign categories

Event Campaign, Launch Campaign, Product Campaign, Promotional Campaign, Relational Campaign, Win-back Campaign and Survey. A launch campaign announces something new, a win-back campaign writes to customers who stopped buying, and a survey asks for an opinion.

Twelve promotion types

Discount %, Discount % With Threshold, Free Delivery, Free Delivery With Threshold, Gift With Purchase, Referral Code, BOGO, Bundle Deal, Cashback, Loyalty Points, Early Access and No Promotion. The two "With Threshold" types mark an offer that starts above a basket amount; the amount itself is in the email, not in a field, so open the email to read it.

Thirty events, in seven groups

Searches to start from

Each of these is a filter or two in Explore, and the emails it returns are real ones, sent by the stores behind them:

  • Black Friday discounts. Event Black Friday, promotion type Discount %. Add Discount % With Threshold to see which stores tie the discount to a minimum basket.
  • Gifts for Mother's Day. Event Mother's Day, promotion type Gift With Purchase or Bundle Deal.
  • Win-back offers. Category Win-back Campaign. Put the emails with Discount % next to the ones marked No Promotion, and compare what each one promises to bring a customer back.
  • Launches that sell without a discount. Category Launch Campaign, promotion type No Promotion: how stores present something new on its own merits.
  • Loyalty and referral programs. Promotion type Loyalty Points, Referral Code or Cashback.
  • Early access for subscribers. Promotion type Early Access, with a sent date in the weeks before a sale you know.
  • Free shipping thresholds. Promotion type Free Delivery With Threshold, in your niche, to read the basket amounts stores set.

In the API, the same lists are named filters, written as Explore shows them: categories, promotionTypes and eventNames. This asks for the win-back emails that offer a discount:

# Search brand emails with filters
curl -X POST "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/emails/query" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"categories": ["Win-back Campaign"], "promotionTypes": ["Discount %"], "limit": 20}'

What each email returns

The fields of one email in an API answer
FieldWhat it holds
campaignTypeMarketing, Newsletter, Welcome or Abandoned Cart
classificationThe category, the promotion type and the event with its group
contentThe subject, the preheader, the first 500 characters of the text with its length, and the address of the screenshot when there is one
sentAtThe date and time the email went out
shopThe store's id, domain and name
extraThe sender and the language, and the store's figures: its emails of the last 90 days and per week, its active ads, monthly visits and market countries

An email's full HTML is one more request, GET /v1/emails/{emailId}/html, and its record with the shop's figures is GET /v1/emails/{emailId}.

Search the email library in Explore, step by step

Explore is the SellWinners web app, and its searches do not use your API requests.

  1. Open Explore and go to Emails. With the search box empty, the newest emails come first.
  2. Type a theme, such as "back in stock" or "free shipping". The words are matched against the subject, the sender and the content.
  3. Pick a campaign type above the results: Marketing + Newsletter (the default), Marketing, Newsletter, Welcome or Abandoned Cart.
  4. Open Filters: a sent date under When, a promotion type or an event under Classification, a language, or one store in the Shop field.
  5. Sort by relevance, newest, event, promotion type, the shop's active ads, its emails in the last 90 days or its emails per week.
  6. Switch between List, with each shop's sending figures, and Grid, with the screenshots. Press Save to keep an email on a board.

The filters worth knowing

Emails take 33 named filters in the API. Besides the date, the labels and the language, two groups matter most:

  • Markets: the countries the shop sells to, and the country it was created in.
  • Shop: the store behind the email: its monthly visits, product count, active ads, best-seller price, creation date, category, and the growth of its traffic and its ads over 30 days.

A large store and a small one rarely email the same way. Set a range of monthly visits close to yours and you read the emails of stores your size.

Read one email in full

An email opens on two tabs. Preview shows the screenshot of the email as sent or, when there is none, its HTML without its images: those sit on the sender's servers, and their tracking pixels would tell the sender who looked. HTML source shows the raw markup, with a button to copy it.

Beside it you see the email's details, the shop that sent it with its sending figures, the shop's email program over 90 days (by campaign type, day of the week and category) and its email stats, with a calendar of the month you pick. The All emails of this shop button opens the store's Emails tab, where competitor email analysis starts.

Five ways to use an email marketing library

Plan a sale around an event

Set Events to Black Friday and Sent after to the start of last November. Sort by newest, ascending, and you read the emails in the order they went out, from the first teaser to the last reminder. Add a promotion type to compare free delivery with a percentage off.

Write a welcome series

Switch to Welcome and search your niche. A welcome email shows what a store promises a new subscriber up front: a discount code, its story, its best sellers or a guide.

Improve your abandoned cart emails

Switch to Abandoned Cart and filter by promotion type, to put the emails that add a discount next to the ones that offer nothing.

Find the stores that write the most

Search a niche word and sort by Emails per week. The stores at the top run the busiest email programs in that niche.

Study how an email is built

Open the HTML source of an email you like to see its width, its blocks and its buttons. Our post on the email flows Shopify brands rely on covers welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase and win-back flows.

Search brand emails from the API and your AI agent

Every search above is one request, its filters in the query string by name and type for the campaign type. This asks for Marketing emails about Black Friday sent since November 1, 2025:

# Search brand emails
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/emails?search=black%20friday&type=Marketing&sentAfter=2025-11-01&limit=10" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

GET /v1/emails Parameters and fields in the docs

The answer is JSON, with the emails in data. Long filter lists fit better in the body of a POST, the labels written as Explore shows them:

# Search brand emails with filters
curl -X POST "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/emails/query" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query": "free shipping", "campaignTypes": ["Abandoned Cart"], "promotionTypes": ["Free Delivery"], "limit": 20}'

POST /v1/emails/query Parameters and fields in the docs

In Claude, Cursor or VS Code, ask your agent: "Find abandoned cart emails that offer free delivery." It calls search_emails, then get_email_html for an email's HTML, with the same key and monthly credits as the API; brand emails are on paid plans. To connect your client, set up the MCP server.

Every parameter is in the emails API reference.

Brand emails on Free and on paid plans

Brand emails are on paid plans, in Explore and in the API. On Free, the demo brands are open in full on the website: open a demo brand's shop and go to its Emails tab, and every email there opens with its preview, its HTML and its stats. See the plans and their prices to choose one.

Start reading the emails brands send

No card is needed. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API. The API and the other datasets need a paid plan. Paid plans start at €39 a month.

FAQ

Common questions

What is an email marketing library?

A searchable collection of the marketing emails brands send, kept so you can study them. In SellWinners each email is linked to the store that sent it and labelled by campaign type, category, promotion type and event, so you can filter for the kind of email you want to read.

Which kinds of emails are in the library?

Four campaign types: Marketing, Newsletter, Welcome and Abandoned Cart. A search lists the Marketing and Newsletter emails unless you pick a type in the switch above the results, or send type in the API.

Can I see the emails one competitor sends?

Yes. Type the store in the Shop filter, or open the store and go to its Emails tab, which lists its emails of every campaign type next to its sending stats. In the API, GET /v1/shops/{shopId}/emails takes the shop's domain. See Shop Emails.

Can I see the HTML of an email?

Yes. The HTML source tab shows the raw markup with a button to copy it, and GET /v1/emails/{emailId}/html returns it in the API. The preview is a screenshot of the email, or its HTML without the sender's images, so the sender's tracking never learns that you opened it.

Can I find the emails brands sent for Black Friday?

Yes. Set the Events filter to Black Friday, or Cyber Monday, and a Sent after date. Add a promotion type such as Discount % or Free Delivery to compare the offers.

Are brand emails on the Free plan?

No, brand emails are on paid plans, and saving them to a board is too. On Free, the demo brands are open in full on the website, their emails included. The pricing page compares the plans.

Can my AI agent search the email library?

Yes. The MCP tools search_emails, get_email_html and analyze_shop_emails search the library, read one email's HTML and sum up a store's email program, with the same key and credits as the API. Brand emails are on paid plans.
