The same feature for your AI agent
These tools use the same key and the same credits as the REST API.
find_similar_shopsCompetitors of a shop (id or domain)brief_competitorA compact brief on one competitor (shop id, domain or name)To find Shopify competitors, start from one store you know, your own or a rival's, and ask SellWinners for the shops most like it. Then set their numbers next to the store you started from, to see which rivals are bigger and which are growing faster.
This helps most when a niche has no obvious name, or when the stores you compete with use different words for the same product. A keyword search would miss some of them. You name one store and the list fills in the rest.
How to find Shopify competitors in Explore
- Open Shops in Explore, set Match to Domain and type the store's domain.
- Open the store. The Overview tab already shows a few of its similar shops.
- Select See all, or open the Similar tab, for the full list with the similarity score of each shop.
- Sort the list by Relevance, Monthly visits, Active ads, Growth 30d, Products or Newest.
- Open any competitor to read its own record, and its own similar shops.
- Save the ones that matter to a board, or track them.
Find a store's competitors in Explore
Read the competitor list
The sort you pick decides the question the list answers:
- Relevance
- The closest shops first. Start here to see who really sells the same thing.
- Growth 30d
- The competitors whose traffic grew most over 30 days. These are the ones to watch now.
- Monthly visits
- The biggest stores in the niche. Useful to see what the leaders do.
- Active ads
- The stores that run the most Meta ads right now. Their ads show you the offers and angles the niche is testing.
- Products and Newest
- Catalog size, and the stores created most recently. A new store that is already growing is worth a look.
A score alone does not tell you who wins. Compare the shops with the store you started from: visits, growth, ads and product count side by side. For a full record of any of them, use Shopify store analytics.
Find competitors through the API
One request lists the competitors of a store. The domain works in place of the shop id:
# Shops similar to a shop id or domain
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops/allbirds.com/similar?sortBy=growth30d&limit=20" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/shops/{shopId}/similar Parameters and fields in the docs
Each row holds a shop with its traffic, sales, advertising and catalog fields, and a similarityScore. Use limit from 1 to 100 and offset up to 5,000 to page through the list. When the store you start from is not tracked, the list is empty and meta.shopExists is false.
From an AI agent, find_similar_shops takes the same shop, sort and limit. Pair it with brief_competitor for a short brief on each rival. A prompt that works: "Find the 20 shops most similar to allbirds.com, sort them by 30-day growth, then brief me on the top three."
From a competitor list to a watch list
- Add your main rivals to the Brand Tracker to track a brand's ads over time: top ads, hooks, headlines and what changed.
- Read every Meta ad a rival runs with Meta ads library search.
- Study the emails a shop sends to see how often a rival writes and what it offers.
- Find new stores in the same niche with the Shopify spy tool, or start from a product with the product research tool.
Free accounts get a preview of the closest 12 similar shops. The full list, paged up to 5,000, is on paid plans: compare the plans to see what else each one includes.
Find your competitors
No card is needed. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API. The API and the other datasets need a paid plan. Paid plans start at €39 a month.
Common questions
What does the similarity score mean?
It tells you how close a shop is to the one you started from. The default order, relevance, puts the closest shops first, and Explore shows the score as a percentage.
How many competitors can I get?
On paid plans, the full list: page through it with limit (1 to 100) and offset (up to 5,000). Free accounts get a preview of the closest 12. See the plans and their prices.
Can I start from my own store?
Yes, when we track it. Use its domain or its shop id. When the store is not in the list, the answer comes back empty and meta.shopExists is false, so you know the store is missing from the data, not without rivals.
Can I sort the competitors?
Yes, on paid plans: by relevance, monthly visits, active ads, 30-day growth, product count or creation date, in either order. In the API that is sortBy with relevance, monthlyVisits, activeAds, growth30d, productsCount or createdAt.
Can I keep watching the competitors I find?
Yes, on paid plans. Save them to a board as you go, or add the ones that matter to the Brand Tracker, up to 200 brands. Tracking gives you reports on their ads, hooks, headlines and landing pages.
