Brandsearch alternative: SellWinners vs Brandsearch
Looking for a Brandsearch alternative? SellWinners covers Meta, TikTok and Google ads, brand emails, stores and a brand tracker, with API and MCP access. It adds a Google ads filter by network, YouTube included, and a Free plan. Brandsearch adds Instagram organic posts, alerts and a free extension.
We make SellWinners, so read this comparison with that in mind. Every fact about Brandsearch comes from its own pages, read on October 26, 2026: its homepage, its pricing page, its MCP page, its extension page, its API quickstart, its rate limits page and two posts on its news page, about Google, TikTok and Instagram and about emails. We did not test a paid Brandsearch account.
Brandsearch is one of the tools closest to SellWinners, so the choice comes down to details. Brandsearch is stronger on Instagram, on its free Chrome extension and on alerts about the brands you track. Both cover Google ads. SellWinners filters them by network (Search, YouTube, Shopping or Maps) and by format, while Brandsearch's pages do not say which Google networks it covers and do not mention YouTube ads. SellWinners also lists its email filters, gives the raw HTML of each email and a sending calendar per shop, and counts usage in credits, one per result returned. And it has a Free plan with no card: each shop's Meta ad library and a shop search, in the web app. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API.
How does Brandsearch compare with SellWinners?
The first table covers the data. "Not stated" means we did not find the fact on Brandsearch's pages. It does not mean Brandsearch lacks it.
| Row | Brandsearch | SellWinners |
|---|---|---|
| Meta ads (Facebook and Instagram) | Yes, with EU and UK ad spend and an ad rank by impressions among a brand's own ads | Yes, with 111 filters, estimated spend and EU and UK reach, on paid plans |
| Google ads | Each brand's Google ads, added on March 11, 2026, in a news post that said Google Ads would come to Discovery, the ad search, the next week. Its homepage names Google Ads among the sources of Discovery, while its pricing page lists Discovery across Meta, TikTok and Instagram. Networks not stated | Paid plans: 41 filters, with a network filter for Search, YouTube, Shopping and Maps, and text, image and video formats |
| YouTube ads | Not stated | Google ads on the YouTube network: the thumbnail, with a link to watch the ad on Google |
| TikTok | Ads, Spark ads included, and organic posts | Paid plans: ads and organic posts in one search, 58 filters. No reach or spend |
| Instagram organic posts | Yes, and a beta in Discovery shows likes, plays and comments on Instagram ads | No |
| Store research | Each brand's estimated revenue, as a floor and a ceiling, its traffic by country, tech stack, products and best sellers. Discovery lists traffic and growth filters, and its MCP page names revenue, niche, market and tech filters | 52 shop filters on paid plans, among them estimated monthly sales, units sold, 30-day traffic growth, apps, pixels and theme |
| Similar stores | An AI competitor radar in Discovery, and a Competitors tab on a brand's page | The shops most like a given one, each with a similarity score |
| Brand emails | Yes, since March 19, 2026, in Discovery and Brand Analyze, with email flows kept on file per brand. Filters not stated | Paid plans: 33 filters, among them campaign type, promotion, event, language and the size of the shop that sent it, the raw HTML of each email, and each shop's sending calendar and weekly rhythm |
| Landing pages | Each brand's landing pages, kept on file | The landing pages a brand's ads send people to, for each shop and in the brand tracker |
| Brand tracking | Spectre: 5, 50 or 100 brands by plan on its pricing page, watched daily, with an alert the day they change. Its homepage FAQ says annual plans include unlimited Spectre | Brand tracker: up to 200 brands on paid plans, with reports on top ads, hooks, headlines and landing pages, and a Radar tab of the brands that launched ads the day before. No alerts |
| Saving and sharing | Swipe Files, unlimited on every plan, shared with a team or in public | Boards, folders and favorites on paid plans, up to 500 boards of 5,000 items, with public share links |
| Browser extension | A free Chrome extension, usable as a guest | No |
How do the API, the MCP server and the plans compare?
Both tools sell a REST API and a hosted MCP server, and on both the API and the MCP server draw on one monthly allowance. They count it differently. Brandsearch counts calls: a quota of requests per key, by day and by month. SellWinners counts credits, one per result returned, so a search that returns ten results costs ten credits. The two numbers do not compare one to one. We do not copy prices here, because they change. Check Brandsearch's pricing page and our pricing page for today's figures.
| Row | Brandsearch | SellWinners |
|---|---|---|
| REST API | Yes, with public docs, API keys and webhooks. Its rate limits page says the allowance is zero without a paid subscription | Yes, with public docs, on paid plans |
| MCP server | Hosted. One heading on its MCP page says 46 tools, and another section says 60+ | Hosted, on paid plans. The Free plan includes the MCP server too: 150 credits a month, 10 requests a minute, the first 10 results of each search. |
| AI clients named | Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor and Gemini over MCP, and n8n and Zapier over the REST API. Its quickstart says AI clients sign in once, with no API key | ChatGPT and Claude by sign-in; Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients with an API key |
| Monthly allowance | API and MCP calls: Starter 5,000, Outscaler 10,000, Agency 10,000. Separate API plans of 100,000, 250,000 or 500,000 requests | Credits for the API and MCP: Starter 5,000, Pro 15,000, Business 20,000. A custom plan sets its own volume. Top-up credits on paid plans |
| What counts | Requests, against a daily and a monthly quota per key; its rate limits page says to read your own ceilings from the API, since allowances can be customised. Lookups, filter values and usage checks are not counted. Its docs also report credits per returned row, with no limit on them yet | 1 credit = 1 result returned: one brand's details, one ad, or one row of a list. An empty result is free. Failed calls cost nothing, and an MCP tool call costs the results it returns, like the API |
| Users per plan | 1, 2 or 5 seats by plan | Starter 1, Pro 1, Business 3 plus extra seats |
| Free plan | None listed. A "Try for free" button; the pricing page states no trial length, and the structured data in the code of its homepage and pricing page describes a paid 3-day trial. Its extension page says saving ads to a Swipe File needs a free Brandsearch account; what that account includes beyond the extension is not stated | Yes, no card: each shop's Meta ad library and a shop search, in the web app. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API. |
| Billing | Monthly or yearly; yearly costs less a month | Monthly, quarterly or yearly; quarterly and yearly cost less a month |
When is Brandsearch the better choice?
Pick Brandsearch if Instagram matters to you beyond ads. Its Brand Library lists Instagram organic posts next to TikTok ones, and SellWinners has no Instagram organic posts at all.
It also fits if you research stores while you browse. Its Chrome extension is free, works without an account, and shows a store's sales data and active ads on the page you are on. SellWinners has no browser extension.
Three more cases favor it:
- Alerts. Spectre watches tracked brands daily, their emails and products included, and alerts you the day they change. The SellWinners brand tracker reports when you open it and sends no alerts.
- Saving without a cap. Swipe Files are unlimited on every Brandsearch plan. SellWinners saves to boards on paid plans, up to 500 boards.
- Large API volumes. Brandsearch sells separate API plans that raise the API quota to as many as 500,000 requests a month.
When is SellWinners the better choice?
SellWinners fits when you sell on Shopify and advertise on Google as well as Meta and TikTok. Four cases in particular:
- You buy Google or YouTube ads. The Google ads library filters Google ads by network (Search, YouTube, Shopping or Maps) and by format, so you can keep only the video ads brands run on YouTube.
- You start from stores. Filter Shopify stores by estimated monthly sales, units sold and traffic growth, then list the shops most like the one you found.
- You study email programs. Filter brand emails by campaign type, promotion or event, read the raw HTML, and see how often one shop sends.
- You want to try it on your own niche first. The Free plan needs no card and opens a shop search.
What does SellWinners do differently?
Google ads by network, YouTube included
In Explore, the Ads page has a Google tab next to Meta and TikTok. Set the network to Search, YouTube, Shopping or Maps, keep text, image or video ads, and add countries and a minimum number of days running. Each result shows its advertiser, its countries and how long it has run. A video ad shows its thumbnail, with a link to watch it on Google. The YouTube ad spy tool page walks through the YouTube case.
# Search Google ads
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/google-ads?networks=youtube&formats=video&status=active&limit=10" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/google-ads Parameters and fields in the docs
Stores filtered by estimated sales and units sold
Brandsearch gives each brand an estimated revenue range. In SellWinners you can search by such figures: keep the stores above a level of estimated monthly sales or units sold, with traffic growing over 30 days, and sort them by growth. A store's record then gives its traffic history, best sellers with prices, apps, pixels, theme and the Meta ads it runs now. Sales are estimates for each store, made for comparing stores. The Shopify spy tool page lists every filter.
# Search or browse shops (trending when empty)
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops?search=dog%20bed&minUnitsSold=500&minTrafficGrowth=20&sortBy=growth30d&limit=10" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/shops Parameters and fields in the docs
From any store, similar shops lists its closest competitors with a similarity score, their traffic, growth and active ads.
Brand emails by campaign type, with each shop's sending rhythm
Brandsearch added emails on March 19, 2026, and Spectre watches a tracked brand's emails, but its pages do not list email filters. In SellWinners, the email marketing library filters emails by campaign type (marketing, newsletter, welcome or abandoned cart), promotion, event such as Black Friday, language and the size of the shop that sent them. Each email opens in full, down to its raw HTML. For one shop, competitor email analysis adds a sending calendar by month and the weekly rhythm of its last 90 days.
# Email sending stats of a shop
curl "https://api.sellwinners.com/v1/shops/gymshark.com/emails/stats?month=2026-09" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"GET /v1/shops/{shopId}/emails/stats Parameters and fields in the docs
The same research from your AI agent
The MCP server for AI agents gives your agent these searches as tools. Ask it to run search_google_ads_library for YouTube ads, find_similar_shops for a store's competitors or analyze_shop_emails for a shop's email program. ChatGPT and Claude connect by sign-in; Cursor, VS Code and other clients take an API key. A tool call costs the results it returns, from the same credits as the API. The Free plan includes the MCP server too: 150 credits a month, 10 requests a minute, the first 10 results of each search.

What does SellWinners not cover?
SellWinners has no browser extension and no Instagram organic posts. TikTok results carry views, likes and engagement, with no reach and no spend. Google ads have no spend, and a reach only for some of the ads shown in the EU. Google video ads, YouTube ones included, have no video file: you watch them on Google. There are no Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat or X ads. The brand tracker sends no alerts, and sales and units sold are estimates for each store, not for each product.
What are other Brandsearch alternatives?
Four other tools come up next to Brandsearch. The table lists them in alphabetical order, from what each homepage states, checked on October 26, 2026. It is not a ranking.
| Tool | What it centers on | Ad networks named | API or MCP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foreplay | A swipe file, ad discovery, competitor tracking and creative briefs | Its extension saves ads from the Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn ad libraries | An API with docs, and a link to an MCP page |
| Minea | Ad spy, product research and shop tracking for e-commerce and dropshipping | Meta and TikTok ad listings, by plan | Not stated |
| Panoramata | Competitor monitoring: emails, SMS, flows, ads, landing pages and website changes | Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google Display | Links to MCP insights; API not stated |
| Winning Hunter | Ads, stores and products, with a store tracker for revenue and traffic | Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest | Links to API and MCP docs |
We compare two of them in more depth: SellWinners vs Minea and SellWinners vs Winning Hunter. For MCP servers alone, see our list of ad library MCP servers, and for the wider field, the best ad spy tools.
How to choose between Brandsearch and SellWinners
Settle these four points for your own work, then run the same brand through both tools.
- List the channels you study. If Instagram organic posts matter, Brandsearch lists them and SellWinners does not. If Google or YouTube ads matter, SellWinners filters them by network, and Brandsearch's pages do not name its Google networks.
- Decide where you start. From a store you are browsing, the Brandsearch extension is quicker. From a niche, the SellWinners shop filters on sales, units and growth find the stores for you.
- Count your usage. Estimate the calls you make in a month and the results each one returns, then compare them with the allowances in the second table: Brandsearch counts calls, SellWinners counts results.
- Try it on your niche. Brandsearch's pricing page has a "Try for free" button and states no trial length; the structured data in its page code describes a paid 3-day trial. SellWinners has a Free plan with no card, so you can search your own niche before you pay.
The ad spy tool page lists everything SellWinners covers across Meta, Google and TikTok, and when you are ready you can compare the plans.
Brandsearch, Foreplay, Minea, Panoramata and Winning Hunter are trademarks of their owners. SellWinners is not affiliated with any of them, or with Meta, Google or TikTok.
Common questions
Does Brandsearch have a free plan?
Its pricing page lists three paid plans, Starter, Outscaler and Agency, and no free plan. The pricing page has a "Try for free" button and states no trial length, while the structured data in the code of its homepage and pricing page describes a paid 3-day trial. Its API docs say the API allowance is zero without a paid subscription. Its Chrome extension is free and works as a guest; saving ads to a Swipe File needs a free Brandsearch account. We read brandsearch.co/pricing, its homepage and brandsearch.co/addon on October 26, 2026. SellWinners has a Free plan with no card: each shop's Meta ad library and a shop search, in the web app. The Free plan includes the web app and the MCP server (150 credits a month), without the API.
Does Brandsearch have an MCP server?
Yes. Its MCP page names Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor and Gemini as MCP clients, and n8n and Zapier through its REST API. One heading on that page says 46 tools, while another section says 60+. Each plan includes 5,000 or 10,000 API and MCP calls a month, and separate API plans raise that to 100,000, 250,000 or 500,000 requests a month (brandsearch.co/mcp and its pricing page, checked on October 26, 2026). SellWinners has an MCP server with 73 tools, on the same key and credits as its REST API. The Free plan includes the MCP server too: 150 credits a month, 10 requests a minute, the first 10 results of each search.
Does Brandsearch cover YouTube ads?
Not stated on its pages. Brandsearch added Google Ads to its Brand Library on March 11, 2026, and that news post said Google Ads would come to Discovery, its ad search, the next week. Its homepage gives each brand's Google ads and names Google Ads among the sources of Discovery, while its pricing page lists Discovery across Meta, TikTok and Instagram. None of these pages says which Google networks are covered or mentions YouTube ads. All checked on October 26, 2026. In SellWinners, YouTube ads are Google ads on the YouTube network, on paid plans: each video ad shows its thumbnail, advertiser, countries and days running, with a link to watch it on Google.
Can SellWinners show Instagram organic posts?
No. SellWinners has Instagram ads, as part of Meta ads, and counts a brand's Instagram followers, but it has no organic Instagram posts. Brandsearch lists Instagram and TikTok organic posts in its Brand Library (pricing page, checked on October 26, 2026). For organic content, SellWinners has organic TikTok posts next to TikTok ads, on paid plans.
Start free, then upgrade when you need more
