A welcome series is the email flow that starts when someone joins your list, usually through a sign-up form or pop-up on your store. It is often a set of a few emails spread over the first days or weeks.

New subscribers are usually most interested right after signing up, so the welcome series is one of your best chances to turn a visitor into a first-time buyer, and to set expectations for every email that follows. A simple structure:

  • First email: thank them and deliver what you promised, such as a discount code or a guide, right away.
  • Middle emails: tell the brand story, show best sellers and share reviews or customer photos.
  • Last email: remind them of the offer before it expires.

Common mistakes: a single email instead of a series, sending the offer late, and pushing the first-order discount after the subscriber has already bought. Stop or branch the series once someone orders.

In the SellWinners Email Library you can filter for welcome emails and see how other brands open the relationship with new subscribers.
